Transfer Rumors

Tottenham are considering fining Bale after he hasn't turned up to training for the second day in a row... He was given the weekend off and still hasn't turned back up to training... AVB has said that the transfer to Real Madrid is inevitable...

Both moves would be nice for Spurs. They've made some great signings this summer.

After giving up on Wayne Rooney (Who now could be signing a new contract with Utd... again) Chelsea now look set to sign Eto'o

Transfer Deadline Day could either be a night full of transfers or they'll just continue to throw maybe's about and then realise it's too late to do anything.

Hearing Eriksen is signing tonight. Great deal. This boy will be world class in a couple of years.

Also hearing spurs have bid £8m for Javier Hernandez, but Utd want £15m for the little pea. I can see us getting him for £10m. Great deal if it happens, but shame for defoe.

To be honest, Bale is out of order.  There is nothing in his legally binding contract that states we have to sell him.  He works for us, and if he breaches his contract then he is due to be fined.  It's a shame he's showing so little respect to the club after we rewarded him at the start of last season with the biggest contract in our history.  He was happy enough to sign it then...

I watched his 31 goals (including Wales) back a couple of days ago and we are really going to miss him.  But, I now can't wait for the deal to be done.  I hope he does well in Madrid, but I want it done, and him gone now.  We've signed his replacements (a whole team of them) and now he needs to leave.  Madrid will be looking to sign Erikson in a couple of years for £150m to replace him...

Spurs really don't need Chicharito. He should go somewhere, but he'd be just as wasted at Spurs. He should go to Arsenal, he fits their style of play and they could do with another striker.

A good director of football is so key these days.  Best deal Levy did this year was to bring in Franco Baldini (which was AVB's request)

He also said he won the LMA Manager of the year 3 times, but although he did win it which is a good accomplishment, he only won it once... Gues he was drunk and was seeing triple...

As well as claiming to signing Hartson on a free transfer when it cost him £7.5m as well as selling Robbie Earle who actually retired the year after Kinnear left

Atleast he has always been reputable infront of the media... except that time when he swore 52 times in an interview as Newcastle Manager including calling a journalist a cunt and then told the reporters they could quote what ever they wanted... then refused to deal with national media and made his assistant manager deal with them in the future

Makes you wonder why we're struggling to sign anyone...

Looks like Spurs have signed Lamela and Eriksen. Their transfer window has been like a game of football manager, but their team is looking really strong at the moment and if they don't get into the champions league it'll be a disaster. I dunno how they'll fund this if they don't sell Bale, but still spending 100 million just to get into the top 4 is pathetic.

I seriously think we arnt just looking at the top 4.

I've heard we are looking at Hulk if the Hernandez deal doesn't happen, and we've had a £13m bid accepted for Fabio Coentrao (Madrid left back).

Also, bare in mind we haven't actually spent that much...

Lameda was £30m
Eriksen £11.5m
Soldado £26m
Paulinho £17m
Capaou £9m
Chriches £11m
Chadli £7m

Is a total of £111.5m

We've already sold Caulker for £8m
Huddlestone £5m
Dempsey £6m
Parker £2m
Plus, Bale is going for £95m

Which is a total of £116m and a profit of £4.5m

Add Coentrao and Hernandez at £30m for the pair and our net loss is £25.5m

How is that Pathetic?

And if Bale doesn't go then Joe Lewis (our billionaire owner) has said he can cover the losses, so no issues.

I actually think, by the end of the transfer window our net transfer loss will be lower than Arsenals, and our squad will be significantly stronger in all areas and theirs wont be.

Anyone, including H, think I'm wrong?

You're just assuming how much Bale is going to go for.

You'e probably right, but you know I can't praise Spurs without throwing in a jab or two. But regardless they've got a really good squad but I can't see them getting anywhere in the top 3, remember this isn't the first time Squrs have a squad of high range players (back in the Modric days). If they don't get in the top 4 this season it'll be a disaster as you're not really gonna be that much stronger than Arsenal if we compare the the squads, but I don't see Liverpool troubling anyone. So it'll be a 2 horse race for fourth and a close one for either team.

I really hope Moyes crashes and burns and United fall out of the top four more than anything though.

The difference between now and the modric days is 1- strength in depth and 2- we have a great manager.  We actually had a better squad in the Jol days (fit ledley King, Paul Robinson, Berba, Keane, Carrick etc) but Jol was a joke tactically.  AVB can grind out a result, and can play expansive.  He can close a game out, which Harry couldn't. 

This is the first season in a long time when I don't really care about the result on Sunday.  I want us to win, of course, but if we lose I know we will push on and build and finish high up the league. Most season I only care about the Spurs/Arsenal results because that's all we have.  Now, if the players settle, we could genuinely challenge for the title.  I'm that confident with the strength we have in all areas.

I agree with Liverpool.  They are an injury to Sturridge or Toure away from midtable.

I can see Utd struggling as well. They need a big player, and I don't think they are going to get one.

Chelsea lost tonight, and most of the chelsea 'fans' are calling it a meaningless friendly...

I don't think United will struggle. I think they'll maybe have a slow start, and will eventually finish 2nd or 3rd. I think City will win the title.

Spurs should get fourth, but Arsenal could just as easily grab it on the last day again if Spurs have a few bad results.

And to be fair, the European Super Cup is basically Europe's Community Shield, which is just a glorified friendly.
