I'd take the Robben deal, but the Rooney one is pants. I can't remember the last time Rooney made a major difference in a game. He did nothing tonight.

I thought Rooney did really well tonight. Granted I only watched the first half, but he looked like a real threat and was attacking everything and causing problems. Just what you want from a striker. All he missed was a goal.

Almost God like? Maybe...

Could be argued that rooney was playing to impress mourinho...

Mourinho has given Rooney 48hrs to say whether he wants to stay or leave Utd, saying that Rooney started the transfer saga by saying to someone important in his career that he wanted to leave and has said Rooney has to end the speculation one way or another

Ha! Awesome. He's being given the deadline by someone else's manager. Gotta love Mourinho.

Bale needs to hurry up and fuck off already, I'm sick and tired of this transfer saga. Him at madrid will be crap for him tho, he's a poor mans Ronaldo. Looking across to the real thing and realising you're not at the same level will be great. I makes me cringe when he stands over a freekick like Ronaldo.

OK. I'm not up on the most popular sport in the world. I'm a dumb American. We turned football into American football and mock your kicky-kick sport. I played 'Soccer' in HS and college, but was not anywhere near pro level, and never had the elite cable channels to follow the sport

What is the deal with transfers? Are they like trades? Trades in US sports are 'player(s) for player(s)' and very rarely include money amounts in exchange for players.

What's the buzz? Tell me whats a-happenin'?

No trades, it's all sales. Very rarely there will be a player for money and player deal, but 99% of the time it's just buying and selling.

Two months of the year (January and August) are 'transfer windows' where clubs can do all their deals. Once the deadline day ends, everything is locked until next time.

Do they have the option to say no? Cuz, in US sports, they can't. when u sign in to a major US Sport, u get major cash, but they basically OWN you.

does Non-American Football have a draft?

The club can say no when a bid is made for one of there players... It often depends on the length of time left on a players contract etc as if there is only 2 years left and the player isn't looking at re-signing, then it may be worth to sell him before he can leave for free...

But the teams can say No, its firsty upto the club to accept or reject a bid... If the bid is accepted then the it is upto the player... He then enters personal talks with the team and even then, the player can say No, he doesn't have to leave

Yeah. Thing is with football transfer windows is that they're international. It's not like moving from New York to San Francisco (although that is pretty huge), it's potentially moving to another country. The player has to have a say.

You can't be serious. Rooney was man of the match.

Which proves Chux's point lmao.

I'd like to also tell onetruemichael that the transfers in football are really fucked up nowadays. There's loads of these billionaire owners who spend ridiculous amounts of money on players who aren't worth it, it distorts the market and makes clubs put huge prices on their players.

Now that they show the premier league on NBC you should pick a team and follow it. I suggest Arsenal. There's plenty of teams that would be a good choice but stay away from Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham are just as good to watch as Arsenal, onetruemichael. But definitely stay away from Cardiff. 😄

Go with Everton. We don't have any Everton fans yet.

Tottenham only have real fans. I'd say support arsenal because most of the plastic fans who dont know about football either support them, chelsea or manchester utd.

I probably live closer to the Emirates than you do WHL.

Spurs have agreed a £25m deal for lamala. Dont know a lot about him, but if he adds a creative spark then I'm happy. Hopefully he'll be signed in time for Sunday.

My only worry is that we tend to sign a lot of decent young players and they hardly ever come thru. Holtby, Siggy, Bostock all had big reputations and all need to produce more. Hopefully he'll be the new Bale...
