Isn't this the guy that spiked himself with the middle rope moonsault? Looked like what you see many kids doing these days as they try to do a flip but just don't get anything behind it and just land on their backs - except this guy landed on the top of his head. Not from far up either, was all due to the force of it.
Heard about this earlier today. Sad news. He was paralysed since 2001, I think.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!
Sad news, though I do struggle to imagine the life of a paralyzed ex-wrestler who grew up in the ring. I've seen the clip of the accident. Such a hard thing to watch. May he rest in peace.

Hayabusa who was the wrestling ace of the extreme promotion FMW has died aged 47. In 2001, Hayabusa sustained a life changing injury after a badly timed moonsault broke 2 of the vertebrae in his neck. Hayabusa invented the 450 Firebird Splash which is now used by Seth Rollins & Kota Ibushi. He only made one appearance wrestling in the US in ECW at Heatwave 98. He teamed with Jinsei Shinzaki (Hakashi) against Rob Van Dam & Sabu. Video for that match is below.
His most popular matches were against The Gladiator Mike Awesome, Masato Tanaka, Mr. Gannosuke & The Great Sasuke. He did crazy exploding ring, barbwire roped deathmatches against Atsushi Onita.
This is a really good bio on his wrestling life Part 1 Part 2
