I got to sit there and interview the Phoenix Kid from NSA Wrestling. He had a lot of great things to say, we appreciate everyone from NSA who allowed us to interview them. It has been a fun experience.

Thanks for having me! I'm originally from Texas. Been in training for almost a year and a half...living the dream everyday
Did you train at the same place that Burt Ringo and Jack Windsor there in Alaska?
I did! I started probably about 8 months after those guys..coming full circle..I was in training about two weeks before Jack made his debut & got to face him in my debut a few months back
How was the training at first? Was it a shock?
It was definitely a shock...between the pain you have to power through and trying to take all the knowledge in it's really insane!
Definitely, you learn something everyday too. So explain where you got the name the Phoenix Kid from
Phoenix Kid was originally ment to be a kind of tribute to the Japanese wrestler Hayabusa that I decided on at the age of 15. As I got older and life ran it's course I really started to embrace the mind set of no matter how many times I get knocked down I'll always get back up.. So when the time came to receive a name I went to the name & mask. Ironically Hayabusa( rest in power) died a few days before my debut so now the name really means that much more.
On that note, could you explain you gimmick and style of wrestling to us?
Basically my character is 140 lbs of dynomite! Smallest person in NSA but biggest heart! My style I guess you would call it a hybrid mix..I don't stick to one style I can adapt & evolve to counter any one put in front of me! Always changing is what makes me special
What do you use as a finish?
Lol unfortunately I can't reveal that just yet! The fans will have to keep following NSA
Keep us in anticipation! Okay what are your goals in the wrestling business?
Short term I want to keep building up the wrestling here in Alaska! Long term my ultimate goal is to make it to Japan & to be able to do nothing else but wrestle any and everywhere
What would you say is your best match to date so far?
I'd have to say my best match is yet to come but my debut verse Jack Windsor was a whole new level of insanity! Facing a man with that much size and power and really standing up to him definitely made the fans realize I'm a major player in NSA! Check that match out when you can!
So you are also a masked wrestler, what it's like with the mask?
The mask to me is very special because it represents a culture and way of life that only a few can understand! It's a challenge at times with vision or getting extremely hot after its been on a long time but I enjoy it
With that in mind, tell us some of the wrestlers that inspired you to pursue this?
I'd say Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, Minoru Suzuki, William Regal, Ultimo Dragon so many more guys
What inspired the mask?
Growing up in Texas I was Exposed to tons of lucha libre and it was always something I knew I'd want to do because of mystic that comes with the mask
What do you think separates NSA wrestling from the other promotions in the country ?
The fact that we grew this on our own and we bring something for everyone to the table with stories that aren't complex and confusing
I definitely enjoy what I've seen so far, a few more questions before I wrap this up. What are some of your favorite matches you've seen through out your life?
Oh man! I'd have to say a favorite of mine has to be LA Parka vs Cibernetico mask vs mask from AAA! Another whole be any of the Rey Mysterio vs Chris Jericho matches or The Great Muta vs Jushin Thunder Liger

It's really just an awesome song and kinda the embodiment in musical form of Phoenix kid in your face and intense
