RIP Shad Gaspard
Shad Gaspard went swimming with his son on Sunday and was swept out to see. They've found a body today on a beach that has been identified as him. Drowning has to be one of the more brutal ways to go, especially when you'd also be worried about your 10-year-old son making it back to shore alive.
Always liked Cryme Tyme. RIP Shad.

Chaotic Good · 64 commentsRhys put me in the loop when the story initially broke. It seemed like this sad update was inevitable, but it's heartbreaking to see nonetheless. The upside in it is that he succeeded in securing his son's safety.

Main Event · 731 commentsI'm really in two minds about this... On the one hand, yeah it's heartbreaking for the family to lose a your father and husband, no matter the circumstances, and drowning is a bad way to go.
On the other, what the hell was he doing swimming in the sea during the Corona virus lockdown? This shouldn't have happened at all as he and his kid shouldn't have been at the beach to begin with... I'm truly sorry he's dead, it sucks, bit this was a totally avoidable tragedy.
Sorry if this is unpopular and a bit ranty..

This is a silly argument to me. He was on the beach in a pandemic, but he wasn't breaking any social distancing rules, far as I know. We could go to the beach tomorrow and it's not breaking any rules, so long as you don't go with or join a large group of people. If you and your kid are the only ones within say, thirty feet of your area of the beach, I don't see it as a problem. Swimming on the beach isn't going to increase your chances of getting the virus, unless it's a full, busy beach. From all reports, it wasn't really full of people. There were a few people there.
It's like if you went to for a run in the park and got stabbed by someone randomly, or you went to do some exercise on a hill and fell to your death. Pandemic or not, it's not a weird thing to do to go out and do some exercise.
