Ring of Honor’s reigning World and Television champion Jay Lethal spoke to Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard blog to promote this weekend’s ROH shows from the old ECW Arena in Philaelphia on Friday night and from MCU Field in Brooklyn on Saturday night for Field of Honor.
Since ROH will be in Brooklyn for Field of Honor and WWE will also be in town for SummerSlam weekend, Lethal proposes an inter-promotional champion vs. champion match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
“I would love to do that,” said Lethal. “How cool would it be if there was a champion versus champion match? There is no way I would turn that down. Whether or not both companies could get this on the same platform is a shot in the dark, but we’d have a tremendous match.
I’ve never got to wrestle Rollins before, either, even though he’s a former Ring of Honour world champion, so he’s never experienced the ‘Lethal Injection.’”

I think it'd be quite cool for WWE to do a little cross-over event at some point. With a company like RoH they could put on some really good matches. But you'll always have the issue of both sides agreeing as to who goes over who, as neither would want their champions looking weak. But I'd be up for a cross-over event if it ever happened. Would certainly be entertaining, especially if it was WWE with RoH. They've down it Japanese wrestling promotions in the past haven't they?

Mid Card

It could happen at some point. WWE's on fairly good terms with ROH right? So an invasion like ECW in 1997 could be worked out.

Better than Essa

Not anymore. WWE has been hitting ROH pretty hard lately, since ROH decided to put out a Kevin Steen action figure before WWE could make a Kevin Owens figure. They'd already tried to keep ROH (and others) out of their towns when they tried to run alongside WrestleMania and now SummerSlam, but recently they decided to deliberately (although Triple H assures us it wasn't) run in a town ROH was already booked. I think that's how it went down anyway.

Basically, since ROH made merch for a WWE guy and since they got on Destination America, the relationship hasn't been so good.
