Some threads seem to be readable-- notably, some 4CW stuff. Enjoy!

Admin and 4CW Head Booker · 5,103 commentsI've had a gander at this stuff before... there's some good and/or funny shit in the archives from way back when.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!

The Moon Maiden · 654 commentsIndeed. Bizarre, for me, to see some of these old posts. I'm hugely disconnected from pre-transition, and the odd, kinda pretentious individual I see in some of these threads is basically unrelatable, on the whole. Very cool to look back on the old forum sometimes, though. To see the familiar names, old posts. I really like the layout of it and the lame jokes as descriptions of each forum.

Main Event · 685 commentsThere was mental shit going on all the time. Just looking in the Announcements forum there's 3 threads about banning. Mordy sending pics of transsexuals to everyone over PM. Jek getting banned from trolling Gumby, then Evil & R_K threatening to leave because of it. Jek taking the piss out of Beyond Perfections sentimental speech & then his mum came on the board & wrote a massive, long god fearing tirade against 4W. Then you've got Kondor rubbing everyone up the wrong way with his views & Evil constantly posting the Adolf Kondor photo to piss him off.

Main Event · 685 commentsRemember when we had our own radio show?! Andy set it up because he had a job doing radio production. I think it came on, on Thursday's at midnight GMT time, I think Chux presented it with some others who dropped in when they were about. That would have been early 2007 I think. It must have been wrestling related but can't remember what the format was like.

That was a bit before I joined. I joined in 2007 I think. But they always talked about it in the MSN chats. The ole group chat scene got pretty crazy sometimes.

The Moon Maiden · 654 commentsI remember the IRC group chat, though not the MSN one. Oh, IRC... many 4Wers were slapped with many a fish, to say the least.

Main Event · 685 commentsIRC chat could hold like 50 people in a single chat. Messenger used to struggle after 12 or so joined a group chat, so you would have to split it into 2 chats. Then someone would always be pressing that nudge button to piss everyone off.

The Moon Maiden · 654 commentsWow. The Political Discussion thread... the Ladies & Gentlemen thread... the Contests thread... this is sooo not yesterday! So strange to see, but cool in a way. Saving a screenshot of that forum era, for sure.

Mid Card · 151 commentsHoly shit this is some fun reading. I just read Kondor's "Interesting Facts" thread from the Off-Topic section and am proud as fuuuuck of how well little 19-year-old me argued. I guess I don't remember myself being so well-written and articulate. This was a nice post:
First of all, cool to finally see BP back on the new forums!
Beyond Perfection wrote:
they were given a chance to accept Jesus as their Savior but it seems to me that they all rejected him and so they all paid the ultimate consequence. they have no one to blame but theirselves.See, here's the bit that I don't get. Let's say somebody was born to Muslim parents, was raised a Muslim, and lived their lives as a practising Muslim. Are you suggesting that if somebody were to offer them a free bible and a pep talk about why we should worship Jesus as the lord and saviour of the world, and if the Muslim rejects this, that they have nobody but themselves to blame when they spend the rest of eternity in the fiery depths of hell?
Christians shouldn't think that others should believe in God simply because they are told of his existence by another Christian. It would take a very gullible and naive person to blindly accept what they are told as fact. And that isn't an invitation to argue the existence of God, because we'd just go around in circles.
Okay, now for argument's sake, let's just say that you're correct and the bible is the truth. Would an Arabic Muslim be sent to hell on judgement day? Are they really bad people? Are they at fault for not accepting Christianity, or is it the fault of the society that they live in for surrounding them with other Muslims, and convincing them so thoroughly that their religion is the one true correct answer?
No religion can prove that their beliefs are correct. If any of them could, then the world would be united under one religious banner. But alas, it is not. In fact, none of the major religious banners (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism) has more than 30% of the world's population as members. But alas, a key fundamental aspect of religious belief is faith.
I guess the point that I'm trying to argue in this post is not who is correct, but that everybody should respect everybody else's religious beliefs. For example, I know fully well that somebody like Kondor is completely 100% confident that his religious beliefs are the one true answer, and myself arguing with him would be a waste of time. Honestly, if I could snap my fingers and make you suddenly change your beliefs, I probably would. All I ask in return is that people respect that I, in my mind, am 100% confident that my own beliefs are true, and don't try to convince me otherwise.
Fast forward ten years and I'm still totally Atheist, but I'm happily married to a practicing Christian, my parents are still Christian, I live in a very Christian-dominant area, and I happily participated in my child's baptism a few months ago. Also I actively avoid discussing religion with anybody. 🙂
Thanks for the link!

What was the record for the longest chat? I remember at one point we were talking about going for 48 hours, but I don't remember how far we got.

Few days I think. I remember keeping it alive while on my vacation to NYC. Get to the hotel praying it was still going lmfao.
