4CW.com Exclusive Interview w/Elfan Simtul!

Elfan Simtul one half of the dominant tag team Umbra Maxima has his first 4CW World Title opportunity at WAR. 4CW's Gabriel Crowe sat down with him to discuss, Umbra Maxima's impact, his partnership with Maximillian, and his singles career.

Crowe: Mr. Simtul I'll get right to the point. The question on everyone's mind. Are you leaving Max behind while you pursue singles glory?

Simtul: This insinuation stems from the mouth and brain of our world champion, Jack Valentine. He knows nothing of my bond with Maximilian. Valentine may be a scumbag, as White put it, but I am not. I am simply a man who sees the world for what it is. Max is my counterpart to be sure, but he is my brother. At Gallows End Silent Sorcery and S&M knew if they didn't take me early they could not take me at all. It was a viable strategy.

Crowe: Let's focus on that word, strategy. Your singles career in 4CW has been both somewhat impressive, but also short. You've had two official singles matches, that you've lost, but in multi-man matches, and in tag team matches your performances have been outstanding. What then is your strategy for Valentine and especially White, one of the few men in this company who outpowers you?

Simtul: Power doesn't just come from muscles Mr. Crowe. It also comes from knowledge, which I noticed Mr. White seems to lack. What pray tell did he think he would accomplish by powerbombing Jack Valentine from 30 ft in the air. He damaged himself as much as he did White, and for what? He did not obtain the title that night. No, he could have taken himself out of 4CW forever and Valentine still would be champion and all he did be for naught. White is a fool. My strategy is to simply be better than them both.

Crowe: Let's switch to January 2020. The start of the first ever tag team Soul Survivor. Of course you and Max are part of it.  As are other teams including a mystery team.

Simtul: And you expect us to be concerned about this mystery team yes? Mr. Crowe, we have beaten almost every tag team named so far for this tournament, the only "team" we haven't beat is Brian White and Tommy Young and they're as much of a team as the 2017 Cleveland Browns. This mystery team does not give us a moment's pause. We came in at Revival 2018 and won the tag team titles on our first night. We held those titles for five months, briefly lost them to Silent Sorcery, won them back, and then held them for an entire year. There is no tag team as dominant as Umbra Maxima.

Crowe: Any final words?

Elfan: Silent Sorcery, Murder of Crows, The Liberation, Synth City Thrillers, S&M, Brian White and Tommy Young, Jack Valentine, and "Mystery Team", cadas tu et luna sub umbra est scriptor. You will fall under the moon's shadow.
