This past Friday was Ring of Honor's 14th Anniversary PPV show. A good card overall which turned into a very good PPV.

The setup of the show looked neat with lots of screens setup around the stage.

Tomohiro Ishii vs. Roderick Strong vs. Bobby Fish

Good match to start the show. High octance bout, fairly stiff. Ishii got the win after the sliding lariat & brainbuster. All three competitors got a good amount of offence in and no-one took a step back. I'm sure we will see Fish vs. Ishii next.

Adam Page vs. BJ Whitmer

Decent enough match but not enough heat for a grudge match between two former stablemates. Page brought a chair into the ring, ref took it off him, Whitmer low blowed Page and rolled him up for the win.

Dalton Castle vs. Hirooki Goto

Entertaining NJPW vs. ROH match. Castle is great in his pomp and can back it up with his wrestling. Goto was channelling his fighting spirit walking through Castle's offence before hitting the Reverse Ushigoroshi & Shouten Kai for the win.

Christopher Daniels vs. Alex Shelley

Pretty good match. Kazarian kept interfering to help Daniels. Shelley got a grasp on the match and went for Sliced Bread for the win. Kazarian tried to get in the ring and scuffled with Shelley & the ref. Daniels went to hit Shelley with a bullet belt but Chris Sabin ran in to make the save. Shelley rolled Daniels up for the win. Sabin who's supposed to be with the Addiction turned on them and joined Shelley to reform the MCMG's.

The Briscoes vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin

Good match with the makeshift team of Tanahashi & Elgin. Elgin has recently signed a deal with NJPW so will be spending more time in Japan. Briscoes hit all of their signature moves but they couldn't stop team NJPW. A slingshot Alabama slam onto Mark and then a Slingblade followed by an Elgin Bomb and the High Fly Flow finished the Briscoes off.

Moose vs. Kazuchika Okada

Another good match. Moose is a former NFL player but has adapted well to wrestling. Amazing agility for 6' 5" 300lbs. He put Okada on the top turnbuckle and then did a standing dropkick hitting Okada on his forehead. I couldn't see Moose winning this one, more of a learning experience to see how well he would do. Okada hit his diving elbow and Air Raid Crash. Moose was looking for his Spear but got caught with the missile Dropkick and then the Rainmaker finished him off.

Kushida, ACH & Matt Sydal vs. Bullet Club (Young Bucks & Kenny Omega)

Quality match-up. It was for the NEVER trio's title, so the belts didn't look like they were going to change hands against a make-shift team. Some crazy spots in this one. Matt Sydal got Superkicked off the apron into Omega who German Suplexed Sydal onto the metal entrance ramp. The triple team moves they were doing were crazy. The timing and sequences were crisp and everything flowed smoothly. The teamwork of the Bullet Club helped them neutralise all threats until they got Sydal on his own. Meltzer Driver followed by the One Winged Angel won them the match.

All Night Express vs. War Machine

A wild brawl for the ROH tag titles. Both teams hit their finishers but they kicked out. Hanson the big hoss got whacked with a chair on the top rope and then thrown through a table. Rowe looked like he was done for on his own. But ANX introduced a ladder which backfired when King got Rock Bottom'ed through the supported ladder. War Machine hit their finisher Fallout to retain.

Jay Lethal vs. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Adam Cole

Another quality match. The two former Futureshock members had to put their feud aside to try and stop the force that is Jay Lethal. They couldn't help themselves and it turned into a frenetic paced world title match. Instead of getting rid of one opponent & trying to make it a singles match, they factored in all three of them for the most part. There was a great spot where O'Reilly had Lethal in a Triangle Choke. Cole rushed into the ring and was caught in the Ankle Lock by O'Reilly. Cole see's Lethal fading in the choke, so when Lethal's arm is about to drop on the third arm raise, Cole holds it up to keep them all in the fight. O'Reilly fires up with the rebound Lariat, Cole comes back with a Brainbuster to the knee. Lethal hits a Superkick to Cole. Then tries Lethal Injection. He's caught by Cole. O'Reilly hooks in a Sleeper on Cole. Lethal comes back and hits a double Lethal Injection. Lethal pins Cole to retain.

Damn! Will have to see if there's a recording of that somewhere. Looks like a really good show.
