So, first off...I gotta say that Matt Hardy has really found himself with this "Iconic" gimmick.  It might be a little tongue-in-cheek, but what in wrestling (that is over) isn't??  Either way, I'm fine with it.  I feel like he has finally become Matt Hardy version 7.0 and became a long-term main eventer like he predicted all those years ago!!

Anyway, Drew Galloway won the TNA World Title in a Money in the Bank briefcase-esque cash-in, only they call it Feast or Fired (which is a pretty awesome concept, and a good one this year especially because they fired Grado and made a spectacular angle out of it with Eli Drake which ended on this show in pretty sweet fashion!)

Here is the video of the win below.  My DVR missed it and it was even set to record 5 minutes over.  So, this must've been past that time.  For context purposes, if you didn't watch it, Matt Hardy had just won a Triple Threat to retain against EC3 and his brother Jeff:

I just find it cool too that Drew Galloway is current EVOLVE Tag Team Champion with Johnny Gargano, otherwise known as "Johnny Wrestling" in NXT.  They are set to defend the EVOLVE Tag Team Titles this Sunday in Florida on a show that is promoting NXT GM William Regal to be there.  Also, there have been several tweets from WWE regulars to Drew Galloway about the win and how much he deserves it.

So, this marks the first pro wrestling event where the current TNA World Champion will be on the same show with current WWE talent, not only that..but, he'll be defending titles with his partner...a current WWE talent!

Another point, I just wonder why they didn't do this 6 months ago at Bound for Glory?  Seems like the ultimate ending and what they should've built up to.  But, I believe the TV deal falling through and having to scramble to get on another network slowed things down and someone came up with the idea to tape a tournament that will take up enough time to let them figure out what they wanna do and where they wanna go, and who they want to go with.  Overall, a smart move I feel like in putting the belt back on EC3.

Ultimately, Matt's reign was there simply to turn Ethan.  I think it was all done well, but I just don't like all the turns.  Matt is basically EC3 without the owner as his aunt.  He has Tyrus, he has Spud, he has the title, he has a rich asshole gimmick, that's it.  Pretty unoriginal in how it played out, but a good angle and good idea in theory I believe.

It seems to be TNA's curse, they have great ideas a lot of the time...but, the execution is what is usually lacking.

Main Event

Putting the world title on the British guy a week after the British shows finished. Another one for the scrapbook.

Yeah hell I didn't even think about it like that. It just shows the short term style of booking they insist on using for some reason...hopefully he holds it for a while

You can tell that Russo is no longer there. Remember what he told Magnus? You'll never be champ because you're a Brit.

I think it's pretty cool that he's won. Good wrestler who was booked awfully with WWE, despite giving him a really cool character that could have gotten him really far.

He's growing on me that is for sure, not sure it was the right move to take the belt off of Matt Hardy so quickly. But they've been grooming Galloway for a while now. I would have let a Jeff vs. Matt feud play out for the title, then put the belt on Galloway.
