Then he was fired with fans of EVOLVE praising the decision with comments like:
"Gabe, thanks for the swift action here. Hope Evolve can remain a safe, positive space for all as it continues to grow/change."
"I understand why you had to do it... I guess it hit a few softies too close to home. What a joke."
"Swift action much appreciated. Happy to keep supporting what you guys are doing."
"Thank you. Thank you for taking a stand against misogyny. I'm so glad to see EVOLVE stand firm on this and set an example."
Personally I thought the comment was quite funny. Far too many butt hurt people around getting offended by it.
The first night on a new iPPV carrier and the idiot says that, even when he's told not to do any political stuff. What a clown.

Yeah it wasn't the best of things to say. Funny, but really not smart at all - especially not on air. Still not sure why there was such outrage over it, but not really something you should be joking about on unless you're specifically told to do so. Sure he won't be out of work long though... some wrestling company will take him to do something.
Joey Styles just can't catch a break ehh? lol

I saw an interview with Joey where he said he told the head of EVOLVE to fire him to save him the PR nightmare.
EVOLVE Wrestling have fired Joey Styles after the commentator made a controversial remark on-air during EVOLVE 72. Just before the main event, Styles said to ring announcer Joanna Rose:
Gabe Sapolsky, who heads up EVOLVE, then tweeted the following:
This led to people saying that he should be fired if you're that furious with him.
