Huge TNA News for January

Main Event

That's right, I'm pulling a Dixie. HUGE NEWS!

It's not huge news though. It's just a showing of how disorganised TNA are.

In the first week of January, TNA are returning to PPV. Yep, they've decided that they're filming their next PPV on the 5th January. There's no name for the event, no concept for it, but there are talks that it could be another "One Night Only" event.

How can you book in a PPV for 3 weeks time when you don't even have a name for it? Surely you have to come up with that before they can do some things. To me this just shows how bad they are. Could you imagine WWE saying that they're doing a PPV in 3 weeks time but as yet they haven't got a name for it? It just smacks of someone having an idea and rushing forward with it without actually planning anything.

TNA. New owners, same old shit.

Mid Card

The last few months of the One Night Only shows have been named "November 2016" and "December 2016"....they've officially given up.  There is no concept whatsoever and they're just regular matches that don't even flow with what's going on in the storyline because they were shot months beforehand.  Especially in 2015 and 2014, they would shoot all 12 One Night Only shows in January and February and present them every month throughout the year.  Shit is brutal.

Otherwise, the week-to-week product has been good since the move to POP in my opinion.

-Eli Drake is definitely a future champion if not the next one.  He is my favorite character on the show by a mile.  The first time he had the talk show with the dummy button, I was falling out of my chair laughing so hard by the third time he hit the button.  The funniest thing about it was that the recording would say, "Dummy, YEAH!" and he would perfectly time it and add in his own live "YEAH!" and for some reason it was just hysterical to me...still is!

-Eddie Edwards has been doing well on his own and I can't wait to see if The Wolves will come back and/or they do an ROH re-hash of the Eddie/Davey world title feud/friendship.

-Decay is a fantastic act and now that Rosemary is Knockouts Champion, that makes for gobs of fresh matches in that division as well.

-Mike Bennett has completely become a superstar since joining TNA.  Such irony too, because TNA has been on an overall freefall while ROH has been movin on up to the East Side for several years now.  Bennett knows where his star will shine the most and it's in TNA right now for sure.  He and Maria are great additions.

-Speaking of great additions, Cherry Bomb and Pepper Parks.  AKA Allie and Braxton Sutter.  I really dig the story they've told with Allie and how they're involving Sutter with her now seeing as how they are real life spouses.

-Speaking of Braxton Sutter, I dug the whole Team X Gold thing and how they made a flag a tangible object of worth in the X Division.  I dug the matches, the story, the build-up, the payoff and the split of the team that won.  It got Braxton over as a babyface, DJZ over as a fighting champion, and accomplished the difficult task of turning Mandrews heel.

-Grado.  All that needs to be said.

-EC3 has gotten a bit stale recently, but still puts on stellar matches regularly and did a really cool angle with Eli Drake where Drake had to stop talking for the rest of the year if he lost to EC3.  Too bad they did the match in December and not in the beginning of November and milked the gimmick for about a month instead of just two shows.

-The Broken Hardyz have literally been keeping TNA relevant this past six months.  While there have been some good parts of the show, this is the part that gets people talking and tuning in.  It's their bread and butter for sure.
