Absolute belter of a match from last weeks NJ tour. Minoru Suzuki & his stable SUZUKI-GUN are back from Pro-Wrestling NOAH. Before the match, Suzuki attacked Okada's knee to weaken him.
Throughout the match Suzuki is targeting Okada's knee wearing it down for long periods. The storytelling and tension in this match is great. There are a few things that could be worked on but this is the best match the pair have had so far. Furthermore, Suzuki is 49 this year and he's still a legit badass.
Meltzer gave the match 4.75/5. The same score he gave Styles vs. Cena at the Rumble. A match I felt couldn't be rated higher than 4 stars because there was no tension, poor pacing and no fluidity interchanging between highspot & nearfall combinations in the closing sequences.
