Daniel Bryan looking to return to wrestling outside of WWE?

I figured "Other Feds" was the best place for this.

So, Daniel Dryan had another spat with the Miz, where once again the Miz was on form. Bryan made another comment about how WWE just won't let him wrestle, questioning Miz when he said that Bryan can't - "I can’t or they won’t let me?”

Talk is that Bryans contract expires in 2018 which coincides with an off-hand comment that Bryan made about returning to wrestling in about a year and a half.

So speculation is that if WWE will not clear him to wrestle before his contract expires, then he's just going to leave and go elsewhere, where someone will let him wrestle as it's just WWE doctors that won't clear him. Rightly so in my eyes given all the grief they've gotten in recent years about concussions and how it fucks guys up later on in life. They're right to be cautious. They don't want another Nowinski or at an extreme anther Benoit. So they're totally right to be bothered about his health.

Personally, I don't get why Bryan doesn't just quit if he wants to wrestle again that badly. Maybe he knows that WWE do have a point. One more serious head bump and he might not get to see his child when it arrives.

Total Divas also came out with saying that Bryan was cleared by doctors to resume normal activities, not to wrestle. He thought he could use that to get back into the ring, but he still couldn't pass the required tests WWE has to be cleared after a concussion.

Would you want to see Bryan wrestling again outside of WWE? Where would you like to see him end up if he does decide to get back into wrestling?

I think he'd be stupid to return, so hope that he doesn't - especially when you consider that WWE are very mindful of concussions compared to other places that still allow head shots with chairs and piledrivers. I know that he loves wrestling and how much it must suck to be told no, but he has to think about his health. So unless WWE doctors clear him, I hope to never see him wrestle again even though he was great.

I'd love to see him come back, but only if he can wrestle at the same level as before. He only really has to cut out two moves; flying headbutt and diving through the ropes. Apart from that I can't think of any other move where he hit his head. The hardest part would be not taking a finisher that results in a bump to the head as quite a lot of finishers could be classed as being able to do that and you wouldn't want to risk it.

I do think he'll quit WWE when his contract is up though. He clearly wants to wrestle again and has hinted before that if WWE won't let him then he will do it elsewhere. He'll do it and TNA will big him up like they've signed the biggest wrestler in their prime, ignoring that he hasn't wrestled in years 😋

Nah, I'd be surprised if he went with TNA. Probably RoH if anywhere. Can see it happening though, really can. Just hope that he's careful when he does.

One side of me would love to see Daniel Bryan wrestle again. Another side of me knows he is about to be a father and wouldn't want him to get seriously hurt because he decided to wrestle again. So I'm on the fence about it.

I get the feeling that unless his own doctors came out and told him that he'd likely end up a paraplegic or dead, like what happened with Edge, he'll go back and wrestle with whoever will take him.

Same. From what he's said in the past, it seems like if just one doctor will sign him off, he'll wrestle again whether it's good for him or not. Having a child might change that though. I might not, but it hopefully it does. Don't need to see someone as good as he was become crippled by brain injuries at a relatively young age.
