I have nothing nice to say about Swansea right now.

Great deal for Everton though. Sell the over-rated Stones who's just had a poor season for £50m. Sign a much better defender, who's also a leader at the back for just £12m. Brilliant bit of business for Everton really.

Joe Hart looks set to leave Man City after being dropped for the first game of the season and they're in talks to sign a keeper from Barcelona. Would be a huge mistake for City I reckon. Yes he didn't have a good time at the Euro's, but who did for England really? Best English keeper we have at the moment (Butland doing well to push for that title though), and would be a great signing for any team. Wonder how much he'll go for though.

Jeez - Stoke have signed Wilfried Bony and Shinji Kagawa on deadline day!

Great deals for them.

Tottenham make me laugh. Newcastle have rejected offers of just over £20m for Sissoko. So Tottenham wait until deadline day and then offer £16m, when we're asking for £30. They're a joke, especially with how they sell players and refuse to budge. Glad we told them no to that. They sold Mason for £13m and Sissoko is worth a lot more than Mason. I do hope Sissoko goes as he's a whiny little bitch, but if no one matches the value we've set then he stays and get's on with things.

Can't believe Chelsea are looking at signing Luiz back. I don't think anyone knows how they got £50m for him in the first place, as he's an awful defender. Looks good as a defensive midfielder, but not a defender. They can surely do better than resigning him.

I very much doubt you'll get 30 for Sissoko. He's worth 20 tops. I think however Spurs will make maybe a 23-25 million offer that will be accepted.

Everton are in talks to sign him. They appear to be okay with the £30m valuation. For once, Newcastle are being flexible in some way, as we're willing to accept it in instalments - usually only accept all up front.

Oh, and Jack Wilshire appears to be going to Bournemouth. My brother (an Arsenal fan), spent all summer telling me how he's the only world class player in the England team and that's why he went having played less than 2 games. Yeah, he's so world class that he's going to Bournemouth on loan.

BREAKING NEWS

Tottenham have matched Everton's offer of £30m for Moussa Sissoko, according Sky sources.

Oh yeah! £30m. It's not the £35 that we initially quoted for him, but I'm happy with that. Personally would have let him go for £20m, but that's what a good Euro's with France does to a value.

Man City have already spent £43m on midfielder Bernardo Silva from Monaco, and they're also set to break the world record for a keeper by signing Benfica goalkeeper Ederson for £34.7m.

In other news, FIFA admit that they have no idea what Financial Fair Play actually is 😋

-----------------------

Newcastle have so far been linked with 22 players in 2 weeks. It's bloody crazy. We've signed Atsu which is a good deal. Being linked with a load of players though and can't wait to see who we actually sign.

City, if reports are to be believed, are set to spend over £200m this Summer. Given that they're not far from half way there, it seems that they will be ignoring FFP this season. Surely they have to be done for it at some point. Haven'y they been found in breach of it once before?

Apparently we're after Andy Yiadom from Barnsley. As are Swansea. From what I've seen of him, Swansea are welcome to him. Need to be aiming for better than him. We're established in the league now, let's go for someone with either Premiership experience or someone from a top league elsewhere. It's not like we're too short of cash. Don't want us to go mad, but spent a little so that we don't become a club that is content with scraping by every season.

Premier League or top league elsewhere means nothing in the grand scheme of things. We blew £15m on Borja Baston, who scored 19 goals the season before, and he's been the biggest flop in our history in the Premier League... then you look at someone like Alfie Mawson, who we bought from Barnsley, has not only been a rock in defence, and one of our key players but he's also banged in a fair amount of goals  too.

As for Newcastle being linked to 22 players, they don't want to fall into the trap of buying a bunch of players who are all crap. So hopefully they sign players wisely. (Or hopefully not, since I don't  want them strengthening next season 😋 )

The press are going mad linking Newcastle with players. Probably only interested in a handful of them. Some are just blatantly pulled out of a had to get fans talking.

Mawson was good. I liked him. But that's the problem with the Championship. You could get a Mawson, or you could get a Hanley who has been mediocre and highly doubt he'd be able to cut it in the Prem, even if he did look really good for Blackburn before we signed him.

Ha, turns out my first number was wrong. The Chronicle - local newspaper for Newcastle - are saying that 60 players have so far been linked with Newcastle in just 2 weeks.

So a whole new squad, with a back up whole new squad just in case? 😋

We look like we'll be getting Abraham from Chelsea on loan for the season. Good young striker. Happy with the deal. Would be even happier if there was a to buy clause in there somewhere, but it doesn't sound like there will be as Chelsea do rate the fella.

Oh, and then there's this madness.

Jermain Defoe has hailed Bournemouth as a "special" club ahead of an expected announcement on his switch to the south coast after England duty.

Sky sources understand Defoe has agreed a three-year contract worth £60,000 per week to return to the club at which he once spent a successful spell on loan.

£60k a week, for 3 years. So he'll be getting £60k a week at 37 years old. Absolutely crazy. In a years time when his legs completely go, they'll be begging him to retire and he'll just sit in the physio room going "nope, got another 2 years on £60k a week, thank you very much".

Well his legs haven't gone yet and he's been consistently a good player in all the clubs he's been to. More power to him.

I'm torn with Michael Keane. The guy is a brilliant defender that has improved year after year. Has one year left on his contract, talk of England call ups all the time, etc. He's seriously a good defender. It's no wonder other clubs are after him. Seems like we're happy to let his contract run down just to keep him another year. Can't decide if that's a mistake or if we should try and get what we can for him now. At least we'd have some extra money to buy a replacement. Probably where I'm torn, he'll be difficult to replace.

Defour apparently wants to leave.

We're offering Dyche a new contract as Palace want him as manager. Now here is something I'm happy about. Love Dyche.

If anyone ever needed reminding that the footballing world has gone mad with player costs, this window will be reminding everyone.

If Man City hadn't broken the transfer record for a goalkeeper, an uncapped goalkeeper at that, then Pickford from Sunderland would be the worlds most expensive keeper. As it is, he's somehow going to be the second (maybe third, depending on costs and how that compares to Buffon) most expensive keeper in the world. No way is he worth £30 million. Great deal for Sunderland, but Everton are being mugs paying that.

This is the footballing world that we live in now.

Everton seem like they're going to be splashing the cash this year. Unusual for them. They must know that they need to help out in order to keep one of the best managers around, cus they're not going to get better than Koeman.

We've reported today that Everton have bid £30m for Sunderland goalkeeoer Jordan Pickford, are in talks to sign Davy Klaassen from Ajax and want Sandro Ramirez from Malaga. We've also told you that Burnley defender Michael Keane is their number one defensive target this summer.

The back page of tomorrow's Daily Mirror also links them with Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson - and claims their spending could top £150m this summer.

Klaassen is meant to be a deal with £25m. Ramirez for £5m.

I'd happily take him at Newcastle, but he's meant to have quite a price on his head... so would rather we looked elsewhere.

No offense but he'd be pretty stupid going to Newcastle lol. Going from a team that almost got relegated to a team that DID get relegated and have just come back up doesn't make sense. If he goes anywhere, it'll be to a top 8 club, but he won't go anywhere else. Wouldn't make sense for him to move to a new club, new city, for the same level of football.
