The Blue Print

Last week was a historical week for the world of professional wrestling as the Stars and Knockouts of IMPACT Wrestling travelled over 20 hours and 8,000 miles to Mumbai, India to film television in front of a crowd full of die-hard wrestling fans!

It was a ground-breaking trip for several reasons. It was the very first time any major American professional wrestling promotion filmed episodes for a flagship television show in India to be aired both domestically and internationally. IMPACT Wrestling filmed episodes that will air every four weeks starting this Thursday, June 9th, leading all the way up to the hottest night of the summer when Slammiversary happens in Orlando, FL on July 2nd.

IMPACT Wrestling wanted to film in India because of the energy and enthusiasm of our fans based in India, and the heart of Mumbai was the quintessential spot. The liveliness the fans bring to the shows is unparalleled, making the next four weeks of IMPACT Wrestling very characteristic of the shows you know and love. The fans, in partnership with Sony SIX, has made this trip one to be remembered for years to come and the historical episodes filmed in India cannot be missed.

Just thought I'd post this here. Pretty cool that they did episodes of Impact in India.

This part isn't well written by them. Are they airing every four weeks (which would just be stupid storyline wise) or every week like the timeline of 9th June to 2nd July suggests? Or is it that they're filming in four week blocks with four in India and then four in the US, followed by another four in India? Because that would get expensive unless all a shit load are all filmed at once, which again would be stupid storyline wise. Imagine filming a load of stuff for 8 or 9 weeks time before going back home to fill in the rest, and then an injury happens that ruins the whole thing. I get filming in blocks, but in practical ways.

Good move for them though in general. They need the money and this will help them.

Can't wait for them to have Jinder V2.0 as champion whilst they say they aren't copying WWE 😋

With Impact Wrestling's recent tapings in India, the company actually held the shows in a TV studio that held about 500 people. Everyone in the audience was actually paid between 250-400 rupees (approximately $3.80 - $7.60) to attend and fans were clearly instructed on who to cheer for and who to boo. They were also told the heroes would be entering from the right side and the villains from the left and mainly did a good job following these directions.

Wow. Making out like it's some huge ground breaking thing, yet they paid everyone in attendance to be there. If they're going to be successful that will have to stop. Hopefully for them, they won't have to pay fans to attend for future ones now that they've shown their faces over there.

It seems that they've put the X-Division Title on Sonjay Dutt whilst in India. Apparently it's not in any way related to or copying WWE's move with Jinder Mahal as "they came up with the idea in March before WWE went with Mahal as champion". Uh-huh, sure.
