Global Force Wrestling has indefinitely suspended Alberto El Patron, effective immediately, until the investigation is resolved following a recent incident in Orlando, Florida.

All down to Paige screaming at him that he's abusive. Paiges brother also posted a long Facebook post about how he's physically abusive and he wants to save his sister.

So completely understandable that he's been suspended, and rightly so. Can't have that, and it's quite unfortunate that he's their current champion. He also seems to be losing the plot as he continues to rant about WWE with a lot of "fucks" thrown in, to the point where GFW cut off his mic to try and stop him. He seems to have some serious issues right now.

This also brings up my dislike for them filming weeks in advance. He's suspended for something like this, and now they're still going to have to show him on their shows for the next 4 weeks, which you wouldn't think would look good on them even if they did film it all before they knew about all this.

It does make me wonder what they'll do about the title. He could come back in time to defend the belt at a PPV. Then again, he quite likely won't and will be suspended for some time. And even if he did come back within a month, would they want him still representing the company? I highly doubt that they will. So, tournament time for a vacated title? Four-way title match for a vacated title? Surely the title is going to end up vacated now.

They'll probably make up something that will make him have to vacate the title. Patron is such a headcase man. I love the dude as a wrestler, hes insanely talented. Sucks that this happens right when GFW is starting to get some momentum and are fixing their image. But good for them. In the past GFW/TNA/Impact has let big names walk all over them and get away with murder. So it is nice to see them stand their ground.

Surprised he hasn't been suspended for his anti WWE rants that he's done twice now... well, twice that I know off, once on TV and then a few days later on Instagram. Hardly a good image for GFW when they've put him on top of the company. Needs to show some decorum that is becoming of his position within the company. Instead he's come off as majorly unprofessional and a little unhinged.

Good on them tho for suspending him over the Paige business. Probably down to Anthem, and was needed. They need to show that they're completely different to how things were when Dixie was in charge and people seemed to get away with almost anything. You want promoters, fans and TV channels, among other things, to take notice of you as a company and take you seriously, then taking stances and looking like a professional company is a must.

Oh, and Ninjak, Jarrett has talked about the situation since asking and answered without really answering what is going to happen with the belt.

During the GFW media conference call on Wednesday, Jeff Jarrett spoke about the GFW World Championship status of Alberto El Patron following his recent suspension from the company.

"The decisions obviously... again I want to be as transparent because it's the world we live in. I'm totally on board with this," said Jarrett. "I've got five kids and, you know, communication is the key to any relationship whether it's personal or business or whatever. So to communicate with you folks who are taking the time out of your day to jump on this call. It's an ongoing investigation -- sounds so legal but it goes a lot further than legal."

Jarrett continued, "At this time, that situation has not been addressed as it directly relates to the belt because it's far from the most important in my opinion."

Regarding being the man who has to make the decision, Jarrett says it comes with the territory in terms of the position he's in as part of GFW management.

"I've been blessed to be put in this position [at GFW]," Jarrett said. "I truly want to make the best decision, not only for everyone in administration and production and talent, all of our production folks... when you group that entire group, it's well over 200 people that depend on a paycheck from this organization."

"It's been an unfortunate situation," Jarrett added. "We take any legal matter but also any personal matter. It's obviously a legal matter as well as a personal matter. We take it very seriously."

I haven't seen any on TV. The one at Slammiversary, IDK if it made the live broadcast. I watched it online after the fact on dailymotion. So unless my stream cut it out, I haven't seen a rant on TV from him yet. If it happened, the version I watched must have cut it out.

The stream I watched included it. I would not be surprised in the slightest if it's getting cut though. They blatantly weren't happy with it as they cut his mic.

As reported on WZ, Global Force Wrestling made the decision to suspend GFW Global Champion Alberto El Patron following an ongoing domestic battery investigation from an altercation with his fiancee, Paige, at the Orlando airport this past Sunday.

GFW released the statement, “Global Force Wrestling has indefinitely suspended Alberto El Patron, effective immediately, until the investigation is resolved following a recent incident in Orlando, Florida.” On the recent conference call, Jarrett did state that GFW will not edit El Patron out of any episode of Impact Wrestling, because he was so heavily involved in the storylines at the latest tapings.

F4WOnline reported that GFW sent out a press release promoting their upcoming event on August 6 in Bridgeport, CT. In the release, El Patron was still listed as one of the headliners, although being suspended.

The promotional material states, “The superstars of IMPACT WRESTLING – featuring Bobby Lashley, ‘The Pride of Mexico’ Alberto El Patron and EC3, among others – are taking their show on the road to Bridgeport, CT on Sunday, August 6, marking one of the first-ever live events for the new-look IMPACT WRESTLING.”

I'm thinking they just forgot to remove his name or something.

GFW has concluded its internal consideration of the events surrounding the suspension of Alberto El Patron. While it is apparent that initial reports unfairly characterized El Patron’s involvement in the incident in the Orlando airport, we are nonetheless disappointed with the manor (sic) in which he dealt with this situation; we expect more decorum from all on the GFW roster, especially the World Champion.

We have communicated with El Patron our decision to strip him of his championship title. No decision has been taken as to the date on which he will be reinstated to the roster, the conditions of which are a private matter between the company and El Patron.

They've stripped him of the title. I like the last part of the first paragraph... shows that this isn't the same management as TNA as they'd have just let this fly. World Champion is essentially the face of your company and how they represent you can have a huge impact on the company. So good on them. Sends a message... you're champion, we expect you to behave as such.

Admin and 4CW Head Booker

Terrible for the already shitty prestige of the title though.

This is hopefully how they start rebuilding the belts prestige though. Taking a hardline with the behaviour of the roster is a good place to start anyway.

They should do away with any of the title history and treat the GFW title as a new entity. Not off to a great start by stripping the champion, but it had to be done and will hopefully improve from here. If they start fresh, they can build that prestige up. Even if the don't, they can do it if they do things right, and stripping a guy of the title because he hasn't met your standards of a champion is a good start to that. It doesn't look good, but it's the idea behind it that is good.

On a recent conference call, GFW executive John Gaburick addressed the topic of Alberto El Patron's suspension from the company. Gaburick took part in the conference call with fellow GFW creative team members Sonjay Dutt and Scott D'Amore.

According to Gaburick, El Patron will return to GFW at the November 5th Bound For Glory pay-per-view event. He said they have exciting plans for Alberto's future and as a creative team they look forward to coming up with "really cool scenarios and stories for him in the coming months."

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, original plans for Alberto called for him to face with Jeff Jarrett or Rey Mysterio at Bound For Glory. Both of those scenarios appear to be nixed now.

His suspension finally has an end date. A long suspension.
