PS: I get the first name of the second girl born and the middle of the first one born, any ideas?

chux and chux. It's a shame the first one will only get it as a middle name, but they'll probably learn to forgive you eventually.

So things are great. Business wise I nailed a large deal with down in Brazil and don't have to go back for awhile now. I also have a partner whose bought in, as I've hit the limit of expertise for expanding and also now have other worries.

Life wise I couldn't be happier, things are going great. Her little sister moved in to help out. She's been great. I've blocked off the nursery, it's a Christmas gift. I'm doing it all myself. No contractors. We've got names now too, Tess Anne and Colleen Nicole.

I'm going physco dad taking courses. It's so amazing and exciting. All the families are coming to our farm for Christmas, last one before the wee ones. Baby shower is a bit different, we've asked for donations to sick kids Toronto instead of gifts. (Except family heirlooms) it's tomorrow.

My friends are planning a guys weekend up at my northern property. I'm banned from going up while they prepare. I quit drinking until after kids are born but am making that one exception.

All and all life rocks. Hope things are well. I'll still be pretty not contactable for a bit

All and all life is well,

Well... 4w ...

Tess Anne (5 lbs 7 Oz)  and Colleen Nicole (5lbs 8 Oz) have entered the world on Thursday Feb 11 at 10:55pm and 11:04pm respectively. Dad has been sent home as Mom and the girls are swooned over by Grandma and Aunts. Crazy.

All healthy and well. Labour and delivery were nuts, nothing prepares you for it, i can't even imagine it from wifeys perspective. My biggest concern is them having Type 1 Diabetes but thats not an easy thing to diagnose right away. They were a bit premature so will spend a little longer at the hospital, but told its not a concern. Other than that no issues brought up, my mother-in-law is the head nurse for maternity at the hospital where my girls were born so she had the best and the brightest on call and there in an instant. Apparently it was an easy birth too, especially considering a first and twins. (nothing looked easy to me)

I've just at home, been told I could have a few drinks tonight as they are going to be at the hospital for a bit. I'm not allowed back until noon tomorrow. Be crazy to have them all home, what in the world have i done? hahaha

You might get lucky with the diabetes and neither get it, being twins and all. My mother has it and didn't pass it down to her three children - so we were all lucky. Funnily enough I got told at one point that I had most of the symptoms and so they did loads of tests only to say that I'm all fine. We probably avoided it though as hemophilia runs in y family as well - my two brothers got it and I avoided it. Just like I managed to be the only one to not need glasses. And I don't look like either of them. I got asked by a doctor at one point whether I wanted a DNA test done actually... mainly because I shouldn't have absolutely no trace of hemophilia, yet somehow I've avoided it completely. Anyways, my point is, try not to worry about it until you have to as they could avoid every bad gene running in the family.

Do you know whether they'll be identical so you can tell them apart? They're quite small as well (or is that normal for twins?) as I was twice the weight of them when I was born.

Definitely identical (same placenta, so we knew for awhile and they look identical), i've been right so far every time i've held them (on telling who is who). Just a feeling, I wonder how much may actually be real and how much its just luck. I'm pretty exhausted but can't sleep for the life of me.

Congrats essa, there's nothing better than being a parent. I say it all the time but it's true. Glad all is well.

Thanks all, now taking any and all parenting advice. Just got home from the hospital again and its really sinking in. They all come home monday barring any issues. I would post up a picture of the young ladies, but we've decided to not put anything up on the internet of them. I know it sounds weird, but we think it should be their own decision later in life what to have on the net about them. (foresight? Craziness?)
