Welcome to the Greatest Nintendo Game of All Time contest, first round.

The matchups were randomly decided.

I will put the matches up every other day, and each round will be open for three days (so there'll probably be 2 or 3 matches taking place at any one time). I want to get through the first round as quickly as possible.

ROUND ONE, MATCH TWELVE

Donkey Kong 64 (N64)

Donkey Kong 64 is an adventure platform video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. The game is presented in 3D and retains platforming traits from its predecessors, including minecarts, barrels, and collecting various items. Donkey Kong 64 is one of only three Nintendo 64 games to require the Expansion Pak, along with The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Perfect Dark. This upgrade provides the game with 4 MB more RAM to fix a game-breaking bug. The game was well received by critics upon release, and went on to become a Player's Choice title.

Doom (SNES)

Doom is a 1993 science fiction horror-themed first-person shooter (FPS) video game. The SNES version of Doom was published by Williams Entertainment and developed by Sculptured Software and released on September 1, 1995. Doom is considered one of the most significant and influential titles in video game history, for having pioneered the now-ubiquitous first-person shooter. In Doom, players assume the role of an unnamed space marine, who became popularly known as "Doomguy", fighting his way through hordes of invading demons from Hell.
