WWE gain their first full-time Black Female Referee

Female referee Aja Smith issued a short statement on her Twitter commenting on recently being hired by WWE. Smith has become the first full-time African American female ref in the company's history. In response to CNN breaking the story Smith writes, "A year ago my life was falling apart, I was at my lowest, and I was about to give up on myself. This morning I wake up to discover I’m featured on CNN! Continue to fight! Bet on yourself because life can change in a instant! I’m so blessed! Who’s excited for this journey?!"

Good on her! Although I can't remember there being a full-time black male referee... but I can't say I pay attention to the refs that much. They're not exactly memorable unless they pull a Hebner. But still... it's a new historic moment for WWE and I hope she does well.
