I know... can't wait. If ever a match screamed WrestleMania, it's this one. No other PPV would be good enough for it.

Two matches I'm looking forward to. Edge vs Orton, and Owens vs Rollins. Edge/Orton will get some time as all last man standing matches do, but I really hope that Owens/Rollins get more than 10 minutes. Let them put on a show. It's the grandest stage of them all, no fans in attendance and the world is going mad. Give us something to be happy watching and don't pull any shit like having it a quick finish just to get them on the card. They're two of the best workers in WWE. Let them do their thing!

I have a feeling that Lesnar vs McIntyre will be a surprisingly great match. We all know that they're both talented guys, but we also know how they like to book Lesnar matches. I've got a feeling though that they will put on a show.

Goldberg vs Reigns I have no interest in. I still have no idea what the point was in bringing back Goldberg just for this. Yeah, have him at Mania, why not, he has name value still. But as champion? Nah, get the fuck out of here with that. Don't care about this match at all, and it won't be a good one. If you're going to have Reigns win the title, at least give him an opponent that he can put on a good match with.

I surprised myself with how little I care for Undertaker vs Styles as well. Maybe because it's years too late. Love Styles, he's still the best. Undertaker is past it though.

Ripley vs Flair had better make it onto the main card instead of being a preshow match. That'll easily be the best womens match. Then Lynch vs Baszler. Baileys title defence looks like it could be a horror show with some of those people involved.

Might have to give this one a watch, there looks like some good matches on the card, and it would be awesome to see Edge on the grandest stage of them all again!

Gotta say, I personally am looking forward to the Undertaker/Styles match. Whilst I agree with Ninjak, the Undertaker is pretty much past it, they've put him with someone who can still work a great match with someone like him! Styles will be carrying Taker, for certain, but I think it'll be done with such style (yep, pun intended...) that you won't notice and it won't matter. Untertaker always brings the crowd energy, always feeds off it well and should still be able to deliver a decent, albeit limited performance. Will Taker win this one? I dunno. If this does end up being his last wrestlemania before his retirement, then probably not, as he'd want to pass the torch. If he does, well, we'll see him next year then! Anywho, here's hoping for a good match from them.

This is where I don't see the match being a good one. Taker is good with the crowd, but there won't be one. It's going to be weird enough as it is, but without the crowd boosting this one up, it'd likely to just expose Undertakers age even more. It's a shame, but the match losing that edge with the missing crowd will hurt this match, imo.

To be fair, that's a very good point. We'll see how it goes. But still, AJ has class and style that will really help this match I think, not to mention a mutual respect between both the competitors. And from what I've heard about Taker, he's not the sort of guy to give less than his all, even if the arena is empty!

Whilst that fact had originally slipped my mind when I wrote that post, Snake, my reply to Ninjaks post does take this into account...

Roman Reigns pulled out last night over fears of catching the coronavirus. I was going to say his chances are quite limited with no fans, but then I remembered that out of all the wrestlers, he actually is at risk thanks to his leukaemia history. That fucks with your immune system, so yeah, he shouldn't be wrestling or even being around the other wrestlers during these times. So good call, and hopefully the top brass at WWE are understanding of this.

There's also talk that Lesnar won't be able to make the event as he's in Canada still and he might not be allowed to cross the border.

Losing one title match is okay. Losing both would hurt the event even more than it already has been.

Current talk is that Strowman will be Goldbergs opponent. The guy couldn't even get on the main card before this and now he'll be in a main event title match. Makes sense...

Agree with Rhys though... we all know this is a problem, the fact that they've been recording with no fans shows that it's a problem. He should have pulled out well before today. When they started doing shows without fans is when Reigns should have stayed away from the business for his own health.

Strowman vs Goldberg. No thanks. That would end up being a contender for the most boring match of the decade.

While I don't disagree, Roman vs Goldberg wouldn't have been much better. it's almost like having goldberg be champion this close to Mania was a big mistake....

Yeah that wouldn't have been a good match anyway, but they've somehow made it worse. Can't remember the last time I've been this uninterested in a WWE title match at Mania.

Well... WWE have confirmed it. Strowman Vs Goldberg is not the title match. Going by the reaction to it on Twitter, people are not thrilled. From the zero build up to the random choice to how shite the match will be...

A weird one now... tag team titles on the line in a triple threat singles match. Just take the match of the card if you can't put on a tag match for the tag titles.

WWE finally announced the much rumored change in the Smackdown tag team title match scheduled for WrestleMania 36. It is now a triple threat singles match with the titles on the line as John Morrison defends the belts against Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso. This change took place as The Miz was not able to tape the originally scheduled tag team match.

This was stupid. Tag titles shouldn't be defended in singles matches. Literally makes zero sense. Was a good match with a poor finish, but should never have been for the tag titles when they're not wrestling as tag teams.

I can't believe how much I enjoyed the Taker vs Styles match. That was unexpected. Glad they chose to do something other than a match in a wrestling ring. The production value of it was fucking horrendous, to the point where you can't believe that it was WWE filming it. But I think that actually helped me enjoy it a bit more as it made it quite funny in parts. I suppose I can't complain about that, as it seemed like they knew what it would be like (like the Hardy's match years ago) and fully embraced it. It was way better than I had anticipated and better than a regular match between the two.

Shocked to see Strowman win the belt. Didn't have a Mania match a few days ago and now he's a brands main champion. Crazy. It's a shame that they've ruined him though. Remember when he was hot and fans loved him? That's when they should have pulled the trigger. Not sure anyone cares about him as a character now with how they've booked him. Good to see Goldberg lose though - I bet their contract with him was up to this event, hence him losing anyway. Glad they kept it real short. This might be the only time I don't complain about a title match lasting less than 3 minutes.

Mid Card

Well I enjoyed that Wrestlemania a lot more than I thought I would, especially the Boneyard Match.  It was completely bonkers, but I loved every minute of it.  Taker's new hybrid Deadman and American Badass character was so cool, I hope he keeps it going forward.

The ladder match was great, as was Owens vs. Rollins.  Loved the smack talking between them through the match, felt a bit like a movie.

I feel like I should add though that it was actually a very good match. No crowd hurt it, as there were a few moments where fans would have blown the roof off. Great match though, just pointless making it for the tag titles. I wonder how different it could have been,

It wouldn't have been that good if it was the original plan. Cutting down the people in there helped it in my opinion. Yeah it's pointless for the titles... but they put on a show! Can't complain.

I did laugh at the Taker match though. They clearly shot that over some time. Taker didn't look completely gassed come the end. I mean, it's good... something good had to come from all this being pre-recorded shit. They made Taker look fit instead of the old man that he really is. Really was surprised by that match. Funny in that it was a bit tacky... but still entertaining.

Corbin vs Elias went on way too long. Was less than 10 minutes but felt a lot longer. This is one where no crowd helped as they;;d have shit all over it. I'd fully expect there to be loud boring chants if fans were there.

Was disappointed in Zayn vs Bryan as well. Both are way better than that match showed. This, the Corbin/Elias and the Goldberg/Strowman (thankfully kept really short) match were the only disappointments really. The rest of the first part was way better than I expected it to be. As Rhys said... better than it should have been.

WrestleMania part 2 was pretty meh. Really surprised me with part one, which got my hopes up for part 2, only to let me down. Love that McIntyre got the win, as expected. Pretty poor that both WWE title matches combined comes to less than 10 minutes of action. What kind of fuckery is that? It's quite sad really.
