Upgrades

Okay, so I know half of what the problem is... just gotta work out what's actually causing it which will require some research and constantly keeping an eye on my server. I have 4 sites on the one server and something is blocking up a port. Unfortunately it's only storing so many hours of data at a time, so I really need to download a raw access log within an hour or two of someone getting an Internal Server Error, then I can see what was doing what at that time and try and prevent it from happening.

So, I'm going to need you guys to keep posting when you get the error and the time you got it and hopefully I can catch it on the server logs now I kinda know what I'm looking for. If you PM me when it happens and the time that you got the error, I'll get an email at work and will be able to grab it (providing this happens during a time that I'm not sleeping).

Until then, I can only apologise that this keeps happening. I will sort it though with your support in letting me know when it happens.

It's fine. It's not like it happens all the time. It's just now and again. It hasn't happened to me since I reported it last, so that's gotta be a good thing.

I want to sort it though. It'll annoy me.

does the servers go down in the morning each morning, as it was around the same time this morning, at 0848 after I had made 1 post, I went to make another and pressed the submit button and got a 403 error saying page was unreachable and this page required me to login to view, I got the same message for the next 2 minutes and then at 0850 I got the standard message below and it was like that until I had to leave at 0915

So didn't know if the servers go down for maintenance for a few minutes each morning?

Well, I have 2 data logs from this morning which I've emailed home. I'll check these out and see if I can see what the problem is. One or both should have captured the problem.

This may be more to do with my laptop and not the site, but it only happens on this site (and if it is my laptop then one of you nerds can help me sort it...)

Basically, it's like my screen has zoomed in and everything is much bigger than it should be.  It has happened a couple of times, and involves me pressing a key (god knows which one) whilst simultaneously swiping my tracker pad.

Any ideas?...

Also...

Just sent a PM and now my box is red and at 99% (for the 2nd time).  Can this be extended or do I have to delete everything again...

Yeah, you'll have to delete things. I don't think I can up the limit but even if I could, if you're a hoarder it's going to happen.

The zoom thing is just a browser setting. If you're using Firefox, you can zoom out again with Ctrl and -, or select it from the View menu. I'm fairly sure it's the same for IE and Chrome, but not 100%.

Im firefox, the ctrl and - or + works well.  Cheers chuckles.

The limit of PMs is 100. I can up it, but do you really need more than 100 PMs saved? Like Chux said, you'll just have to start deleting.

It's not a big problem, I like to keep the conversations I've had with people in 4CW because then I can refer back to stuff later (feud ideas and storylines).  Always feel like I'm going to delete something that is vital...

I've deleted 70 not, the thing is, in 2 weeks it will be full again...  Damn,  I'm popular...

I had it the other day when trying to reply, and it turned out to be a certain word combo which the security of the site didn't like (also had that on another site last year). Was a pain in the ass working out what the word combo was.

I did this other day, then I edited the post and changed it to what I wanted it to say and it allowed the edit

I had the broken site page just a minute ago. I tried a few things with no luck, until it finally worked when I removed a quote. Maybe it's something in the coding?

Also Mikey posted between when I hit 'post reply' and then when I hit 'submit' on the next page. It might be something to do with that. Maybe.
